If you do not trust someone, there is a reason for it. If the person said a small lie, then you will regain trust. If the lie is major, then regaining trust is unlikely. There is also good reason to believe that a major lie will be repeated.
Take care,

From past experience with friends who I have had certain trust issues with, here is what I have found. Depending on age and maturity of the "offender" yes, you can definitely learn to trust someone again. People make a lot of bad judgment calls that are often mainly due to lack of maturity and the integrity that can often come with it. I have several friends I had problems with in out younger days (aka High School and shortly after) that now I would trust with my life absolutely!
However, if this is not the case, I have always believed you do not have to trust someone 100% as long as you know them. In other words knowing you can't trust someone goes a long way in covering that 20%. It's the people you don't know that you can't trust that are the problem!
Best of luck to you!

I think that if this person hurt you there really is no way to trust 100%....
I do think however if you care for this person you should really give it your all. I know from being hurt that you will always question but if you are able to stick it out and move forward you may find that you start thinking and questioning less.

Since you've brought the percentage down, that someone must really have tried hard to earn your trust again. It depends if I would give them my trust again. If they did something unforgivable but I love them, then I guess I would trust them less and time will ease the pain so I will go back to trust again..

Yes. u can.
Trust is not that comes just by sight. It comes as u mingle with them and get the know them. Anything u trust about a person at first time is not 100%.. it takes time...

I really don't think YOU have to learn anything, trust is something that is earned. You have to believe that person can change and never throw it back in their face in an argument. Forgive and forget is key. Otherwise don't bother.

I truely believe that trust can be regained but it takes a lot of work and time. It's not something that will happen over night.
