i have the same problem, you have to practice remembering, and keep a notepad by your bed so you can write stuff down right when you wake up

All of us have a number of dreams every night, whether we remember them or not. Many people don't remember their dreams only because they've never been taught how, or more accurately, we've forgotten how. (Ever notice how real and common dreams are to children?)

By simply making the effort to remember dreams, you'll be amazed at how easily the skill comes back. The process used in YourGuidingDreams also provides tips and ideas along the way.

Some people don't.

Anyway, even the people that remember their dreams usually only remember the ones right before waking. People dream all night and the greatest percentage of it is completely forgotten.

It could be that your sleep patterns have changed and that is affecting the way you wake up and thus causing you to forget.

if you wake up using an alarm, the surprise from the noise could make you forget the dream. But trying to record it with pen & paper is a good idea.

It's not in your conscious mind but your subconscious. They only surface in the conscious mind during dreams. Writing them down write after you wake up usually helps as long as you don't leave the dreamstate. In other words you probably wont be able to have any light and your writing may be screwed and choppy. But it will help you remember them.

I've heard that if you can't remember your dreams it means you are too tired when you go to bed. Try to get a bit more sleep.

Because as you tend to get older, you forget things. Sometimes you will be able to remember things but sometime when you have a lot of things on your mind, you tend to forget. It happens to mostly everyone sometimes. Just wait till you get older..
