The Grinch who stole Christmas is on. ( cartoon version) I think this is a hair too much. Do you? I was an advocate for Christmas decorations to be out early. but on 11/12/06. This maybe crazy. I dunno, maybe I am just stunned.

Hell I love Christmas, I work in a drug store and I was messing with Christmas all day. I even found a few Christmas stuff to hang in my home. I just can't figure out why the Grinch is on. I am blown over.

It is CRAZY! We have a radio station here that has been playing Xmas music since 11-1 (24/7)- for REAL!
I don't think anything like that or TV shows should happen until after Thanksgiving.
Christmas is turning into a whole "season". It's crap.
I really don't even feel like celebrating this year- because I am so annoyed with it getting shoved down my throat.
Maybe the Grinch could actually pull of stealing it this year????

The spending for Christmas this year is suppose to be less than last year because of the economy so the stores and the TV are going to start plugging Christmas early to get everyone thinking about spending and hoping people will start earlier and spend more. Read the daily news papers and then you would see that stores are worried

You are right, I don't think the shows should start until Thanksgiving. I work at a retail store and we put up our Christmas decor 2 weeks ago, before Halloween! And we have already been playing Christmas music for over a week. I am already sick of it!! I am stunned too!

Yeah you will notice that as Christmas approaches all the advertising and media lays it on more and more. I think it's some kind of citizen control thing. Come on folks it's time for Christmas get ready to spend, spend, spend.
On the other hand why should TV networks not be allowed to show any type of film at any time (with obvious controls re: watersheds and such.)
It's difficult to regulate things like this. I guess you just need to celebrate how you like and ignore the media build up if it stuns you too much.

I dont think its too early. Christmas only comes once a year so some of us like to make the most of it and enjoy it as long a possible. I've been watching Christmas movies already. Nothing wrong with that.

with you on this one as we need to celebrate Thanksgiving first. when I was a manager of a retail store our District Manager ( bless his heart ) left when the Christmas decorations were to be put up to the individual store managers. I refused to have Christmas decorations up until after Thanksgiving. many customers commented how nice it was not to see Christmas decorations as we had Thanksgiving decorations.

yes, I think all this christmas stuff comes out earlier each year!
Big business just wants us to start spending money ASAP. It's a pity it's all been so commercialised. Oh well.

It's the largest retail holiday in a free-market economy. Of course they're going to pimp it all they can. Halloween is the second largest retail holiday and stores had decorations and promotions out for it by mid September. It's good for business and our national economy. Now, please, stop b!tching about it.
