Bigotry. If homosexuals were allowed to get married, it would only effect those gays and lesbians who got married. It would not effect married straight people or single straight people at all, but some straight people are against gay marriage because of a dislike of gay people and want to deny gay couples marriage to make the gay couples lives harder even though it has no effect on their own lives.

BIGOTRY, pure and simple. A fear of and hatred of what is different. Allowing TWO CONSENTING ADULTS to marry is NOTHING like allowing incest or marriage to animals, because in both of those cases, one of the entities is NOT a consenting adult.
