Jazz lives in the hearts of all musicians and fans who love virtuosity and ability to actually play an instrument competently.

Mainstream wise, I think it has definately died down. You rarely hear anyone talking randomly about jazz music.

However, it still lives on. I have just recently discovered how amazing jazz music is. Now I'm hooked and in love with it :-D Rock on, Jazz!

Jazz is, basically, the classical music of the New World. The music of geniuses such as Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis--to name just a few--will be performed in the 23rd Century and on just like the music of J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, F.J. Haydn, L.v. Beethoven, etc. is today and will then. No doubt whatsoever in my mind.

BEST concert I've been to in 15 years was David Sanborn. His entourage was incredible...I have never seen anyone as talented as his bassist...
