Well, the first thing I would have considered would have been the possibility of twins; which you stated there is only one in there. So, I would guess that you'd probably need to cut back on your fat intake in your diet. I don't know what you weighed before becoming pregnant, but usually OB-GYNs recommend women to stay within the range of 25-35 lbs of weight gain throughout the entire pregnancy. Since you are only in your 4th month, your main weight gain will occur during the third trimester, and you aren't close yet.

Sometimes women will have extra amniotic fluid within the uterus and this will cause your stomach to be larger than normal. I have personally assisted in these deliveries before, and the only worrisome factor was that the umbilical cord had so much fluid to "swim" around in that it could cause strangulation problems with the baby during delivery. I am in NO WAY stating that this will happen to you, so don't worry yet. You may just be gaining a little more weight than desirable right now.

My best friend wore a size 2 before getting pregnant with her first child, and she gained over 80 lbs during her first pregnancy. So try not to worry yet. If you have any concerns throughout this time in your life, you really need to talk with your doctor about it. He/she can give you their best opinion on your specific situation, because they know you much better than any of us here on Yahoo.

Be glad that you are able to nourish that baby, and don't worry until you have to. Pregnant women should indulge, just be careful how much.

I am 19 weeks and I am big. This is my 3rd baby and I had a few further weight from my final being pregnant so I anticipated to exhibit prior than with the others. I have additionally had bigger than common infants in order that would even be a motive why I get so gigantic. I have already had an ultrasound and there was once just one child, I'm simply HUGE this time. Some females exhibit quicker and/or exhibit larger than others. If twins run within the household in your moms aspect you then do have a larger likelihood of twins however that might without doubt had been stuck through the healthcare professional at this factor primarily due to the fact you've got already had an ultrasound. You must be scheduled for an ultrasound at your subsequent appointment so then you'll realize for certain. Everyone suggests otherwise and profits an extra quantity of weight, so long as your healthcare professional says you're healthful I would not fear. Congrats at the being pregnant!

Anytime you have questions call your doctor. That's what they are there for. When I was pregnant with my first baby I looked really big when I was four months too. It was at my first ultrasound that I found out that I had too much amtioc fluid. I had to have the fluid drained twice a week. Then with my second baby I looked big as well. But he was just a bigger baby. So I'm not going to say not to worry because you will anyways. And that's ok!! That's what being a good mom is. But talk openly with your doctor and ask questions when you are worried or concerned.
Good Luck and Congrats!!!

I wouldn't be to concerned. I was huge when I was preg. I was the same way. When I was 7 months along, I took a visit trip to the hospital to see the room and get an idea what was coming. And when I got in the maternity ward, all the nurses jumped up asking if my water had broke and if I was having contractions. I laughed and told them I had two months to go. And they all went "Oh no, your gonna have a big baby" I didn't want to hear that. Well my son was 2 ounces shy of 9 pounds. But that don't mean your gonna have a big baby. You may just show easy. But I wish you luck and congrats. Take care.

I am guessing this is your first pregnancy. If it is after your first you will get huge faster than you did before.

If not, don't worry. You are fine. If something was wrong, the ultrasound would most likely have shown it.

You will probably gain most of your weight in the sixth month.

Eat a healthy balanced diet. Keep exercising, walking is excellent.

Be happy.

No but if you are going to be worried about your weight after the baby you should still have a healthy diet and do some exercise. Then you will be in a better position to loose the baby weight. That's what I should have done

Your due date may be off. The baby starts kicking at about 4 months, so if you have felt it kicking for a few months your dates may be off.

...In addition, some girls just show more than others. Not to worry if your Docs not worried!

Don't worry, every one is different. By my 6th month I looked liked a beached whale. If the doctor is not concerned relax you are in the home stretch.

Everyone is different. Its fine! One possibility could be gestational diabetes that can cause a larger than usual baby. But if you have health care all along the pregnancy I would not worry about it.
