If my name is still on everything inlcuding property and loans, where do I stand legally? We have adult children. If he owes, do I have to pay?

YES. As long as you are still married and not LEGALLY separated both debts and assets are divided equally between the parties.

If there are reasons you need to stay married, get a legal separation so you can LEGALLY be separate from each other's debts and obligations.

Health insurance is one reason may people do not divorce. A legal separation can keep the benefits, but you won't be bound by the financial burdens of each other.

Yes!Get a divorce as soon as you can.My mother and father have been separated for twenty years.She got in a really bad car accident and his insurance had to pay for her.If you are still married you both have legal obligations when it comes to accidents,death and money owing!

Yes you are still legally married, And if you die he would get everything normally also.

You need to get a divorce and divide property to eliminate your liability

Shared marital assets and debts.
If you can get him to sign a document stating that he's solely responsible for the debt and relieves you of responsibility to repay said debt(s), drafted by a lawyer and notarized, do so and then guard it with your life

each state is different. In my State they have community property laws. Half of what I own is hers. Half of what she owns is mine. half of what I owe she owes. Half of what she owes I owe. It all comes out when one or the other dies. Do you have a will?

Unless you got it spelled out in a seperation agreement- you are still responsible for anything with your name on it.
