Extreme poverty, no antibiotics, lots of violence, the feudal system, no democracy, much shorter life span, poorer and less food, no glasses for poor vision, people died from toothache, poor clothing especially in bad weather, living in fear, extreme superstition, violent punishments for petty crime, workhouses for children, many women died in childbirth, no birth control, etc. I hope this helps.
