It would depend on the time of day, what the weather was like, what it was choking on and how long it had been choking. At night, during a rain storm, after hours of having swallowed a large black olive, and being near dead, the smurf would appear a very dark, nearly black, purple. I think.

Well, its ears would turn green, then its nose would turn polka dotted red and white with stripes, its forehead would turn orange and its cheeks would turn purple with spirles of pink. Meanwhile the object that is choking this poor smurf would turn the color of the smurf.. like that shade of blue until it leaves its body. It's not a pretty site. =/

Very good question well thought out
You will need to do a practical test on this subject to find out cause I don't think anyone has strangled a smurf lol
Let me know the result xxx

It would stay blue. A smurf is an inanimate paper or electronic object and does not need therefore to breathe.
