I'm 19 years old and I've come to a point where I stopped listening to this fake/thug/garbage music. The same could be said about reggaeton too, but just as everything there is a good and bad. Hip hop has it's flaws and ups. The same could be said about reggaeton. I'm not against today's sexual songs because we are all sexual and sometiimes we need that kind of stuff (don't front!). I'm against violent music. It's a real shame that artists promote violence. Look at Daddy Yankee and his song with Snoop Dogg. Oh yeah he raps about how you have to be tough in the streets, with images of a person with a gas mask (I mean WTF, this ain't no chemical/gas war!). Yet at the end of the video you see a young girl with carboards saying to give back to the community. Don't be using innocent children in your pathetic videos. I used to listen to gangsta rap, but I really thought hard about it and said to myself, why am I so angry? Instead of me making trouble why don't I contribute to

It sure has come to a sad state when so many people your age cant stand the music of their generation. The music of today truely sucks. Yes my parents said the same when I was growing up, but today it is really true. Proof is that todays generation dont even want to listen to it! Well many of your age seem to be going back in time & listening to the great music of the 60's -70's etc. Give it a try.

Look into world music, if you explore them all (I prefer Celtic personally) you will find there is a lot more variety and "sounds" out there, everything to suit the taste/mood. I think today's technology gives us so much greater choices than 25 years ago when someone had to make it "big" before they could put out and distribute their music, now popularity, not music executives, make the decisions.

I agree. Try broadining your horizions, listen to some Gershwin. Experiment with different genres. There is a lot of good new music out there, too. Have you heard Gnarls Barkley? It's great-and non violent with minimal cussing.
