You have an eye problem. (I can't see myself coming to work today)
Tell them you have the flu, but only if you haven't told them that in the last 4 months. (It is flu season)

Well... I wouldnt' miss it although I don't feel like going. You should be thankful you have a job and keep it. Try to see things positively. Pretty soon it's Friday night again!
