Yes one time I was watching the news and they said how the red ones are made from a type of beattle. (The red dye is from the beattle) not only red smarties but other items as well are colored from this beattle dye I forget the exact name but it starts with a p after that I never eat the red ones again.

No and that's an urban legend- which means someone made it up. Same with the 80's scare of spider eggs in Bubble Yum gum.
Ingredients- dextrose (sugar), citric acid (citrus acid), calcium stearate (calcium), artificial flavors ( fake cherry, orange, lemon etc), artificial colors (food dyes). No beetle skin ;)
