it depends on the relationship he has with his sister.

If him and his sister are close there may be jealousy.
If the brother is older than the girl there may be that sibling protection thing going on.

If the sister is using the bf to get out of a house where there is fighting and tension the brother may not want her to leave him in alone in a stressful situation.

Have the idea?

Writer's block just means you've gotten tired of the story. Step away from it for a few days, then come back to it---you'll find the absence has refreshed your view of the story, and also helps your imagination work on how things go from there. :)

Maybe he should casually dismiss her because he's got better things to do than hang out with someone who paints her nails and says "Like, totally!" all of the time.

Well, they could have worked together, gone to school together, lived in the same neighborhood as children, or maybe helped eachother once before so that their profile is memorable.

You need to re-fill the well of creativity.

Get out of the house...

Get away from your writing....

Go see a few films...

Visit some museums....

Sit in coffee houses for hours on end, watching people...

get away from your writing.
