Oh honey. I feel your pain. I've worked retail and been a waitress. I began losing all faith in humanity. In retail I watched well-dressed buinessmen try to scam me by returning cheap boots in an expensive box. I saw little old ladies get busted for shoplifting. Parents beating the crap out of their kids. People making insane amounts of annoying small talk.

And waiting tables???? Forget it. The only reason people go out to eat where I live is so that they can experience what it's like to have a slave for an hour.

Get yourself a job in the receiving department (or restaurant kitchen in my case) where you can hide in the back, crank up the radio and watch your co-workers suffer.

I waitressed for 7 years and after putting up with some ignorant b*llsh*t I totally feel the same way. I just wanted to throw the wine on the guests or kick them in the nuts, whatever popped in my head. I am now a makeup artist which is a little better since I'm not relying on these b*tches to tip me but I still get those a**hole people that hate the application and want everything for free!!! Blows my mind!! Well thanks for letting me vent. I now have an interview as a finacial advisor for hispanics so that should be muy bueno!!! Good Luck to you!!! :)

P.S. Please folks be nice to the waiters/waitresses out there. I could tell you some stories that would make you want to kiss their a**es while you dined out! Thinks about it~is it really a good idea to be rude to the person handling your food? They make $2.13/hr and resturaunt jobs are a dime a dozen so they will definelty retaliate.

I have worked retail for 10 years too and yes it does have a tendency to SUCK!!!
Most of the people that I deal with are very very nice ....but you get the one or two who think you are there to be mistreated...gosh that makes me crazy.
Other people think that when you ring them up and the price is wrong that it is all your fault and your out to get them AAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!! I want to look at them and tell them " Damn you caught me I was gonna take your money I just scammed you out of and go buy a couple of Margaritas." Just try to think of them as ignorant people who have no true place in your life....
The only thing that gets me through the day when someone is being a rude, inconsiderate a s s hole ...is that I make a choice to punch that time clock....nobody is holding a gun to my head!!!
I wish you luck because as you well know....this is the season for all retail employees to be mistreated!!!
