I agree. I would love to adopt a child when I am ready to have one. I think I'd actually prefer it to having my own. But I am not one of those people who need to share genetics with someone in order to love them as their own. There are a lot of selfish people in the world.

I'm not entirely sure that we have an overpopulation problem. Then again, I live in Canada where we really need more people.
I wish every unwanted child could have a loving home. More and faster adoptions would help, of course, but so would easier access to birth control and proper sex education for everyone.

I don't believe there is an overpopulation problem in the western nations....the birth rate is so low that we aren't even keeping pace with our death rate...if it weren't for immigration, we'd really be screwed!
