My friends and I took a trip from boston to Detroit once in the worst snowstorm of the year. We took a wrong turn and ended up somewhere in the adirondacs up somewhere near canada. We spun off the road and ended up in a gulley of the highway for like 4 hours in the freezing cold!!! It makes me appreciate fleece blankets and warm houses...

Being dive bombed by 2 American F-15's on Donna Nook bombing range in Lincolnshire while performing routine safety maintenance by removing spent rounds from the sand.
They weren't cleared to be using the range as it was closed at the time, but they didn't seem to care and weren't responding to radio hails.
I genuinely thought I was about to die a senseless death on a cold north sea beach, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I nearly shat myself.

I was knocked down by a car when I was 6. I thought I was going to die and really couldn't believe it was happening. Luckily, I survived. I got up and staggered home shaking like a leaf.
