You'll need a 1/8 input (to the computer) and an output (RCA or otherwise) from your source (Record Player/Cassette Player).
They make RCA to 1/8 adapters if you need it.
Plug the 1/8 input into the microphone input on your soundcard. I use Soundforge, but there is a program on Windows that will allow you to record sound to. Go to Start/ Programs/ Accessories/ Entertainment/ Sound Recorder.
You'll then have to convert it from WAV to MP3. Musicmatch is a great program for that. It's free and is available at musicmatch.com.

Yep, you need a cable with small stereo phono jacks on each end, you can get them anywhere, connect one to your player and the other to the line in or mic on your computer.
