Maybe I am missing some subtle point regarding your question.

When Sweetie Pie comments on Westerners and say "to those like us" I have to ask if there is a particular context to your question.

I am a Westerner and my business back ground and MBA in finance and economics places my answer in the context that time is, or can be, considered a commodity, asset or a part of compensation.

Do I personally believe that time will eventually be resolved into a world wide accepted common currency...no. There are too many cultures, political, religious, spiritual and economic vale systems in the world that would allow this to happen. Beside, it takes but a single person; say Sweetie Pie, to never accept a common currency thus eliminating it from being completely Universally accepted.

Besides, I have traveled to non-western countries and have observed that time is values and measured differently then I do.

Interesting question.

Money can't buy time , or happiness for that matter! All you need is love....love is all you need...the thoughtful lyrics by The Beatles! Could love be the Universal language that everyone can relate to?

unfortunately...most westerners think time is money...so the answer for those like us would have to be no. this is a hard and fast concept that we cling to like and treasure like mothers milk. we love our money which helps us buy our platic junk...that is the value we have placed on our time.
