remembering the right letters for spoken words, or remembering the right names for things?

The person I'm speaking of has a problem with acronyms like VCR or DVD (they will call it VCV or DVC or VRC...).

She also has problems with names like restaurant names (the restaurant will be called "el palacio" but she constantly calls it by every other mexican restaurant name imaginable).

It seems vaguely like dislexia, but not quite the same... Is there a name for this problem? And if so, is there a way to treat it or make it more managable?

Great question. Answer: Two Brain Syndrome.

I have the same problem at times.

I call this condition the "Two Brain Syndrome".

Your friend and I are thinking too fast...It is as if the Brain is *stuttering* for a moment.

I Manage this issue in this manner: I ask the Other person, is It DVD or VDD....I tell them I have a Brain Cramp.

If your friend does this all of the time and in every discussion, then there may be a recalling or remembering problem.

The Old Phrase...Think before you speak...Holds true for many of us...smiles.

There is an additional issue: Perhaps, she is nervous around you. Anxiety can cause *Mis Statements* of all types.

Good Luck. She may require your assistance in Manging this issue.

It may be nothing more than not paying attention to the letters in something. My mother could never remember my boyfriend's names, and called them names similar or sometimes, a name she knew from years ago. Her problem: inattention.
