Fish do eat plants sometimes. When I kept fish I had to regularly buy fresh plants for the tank. Some plants are liked more than others try some different types of plants and see which ones they go for most then buy more of the ones they don't eat and the plants should survive. Ask at the pet shop they should be able to recommend some for you.

iv got 17 cold water fish and they all eat the plant, its because they are hngry. its not a bad thig becuase they eat plants in their natural environment. the plant acts as food and an oxegenator. dont go over feeding the fish as that will kill them.

you can tell if your not feeding your fish enough if they stop eating what you put in...

when they are hungry they will just nibble at the plant...its not a bad thing and your plant shouldnt last forever anyway you should change it every few months...

don stress about it, as long as they are healthy its ok.

if your really worried get fake plants but id advise against it...

Some kinds of fish do eat plants, or the alge growing on their leaves. It is probably part of their natural behaviour and almost no aquatic plants are poisonous so it should not harm them to eat a small amount of it every so often.

Coldwater fish are known to do that. They LOVE munchies, and a few plants are very tasty to them.

If you have hornwort or Anacharis, chances are they will make a salad out of that. Same with quite a few other plants. To them, it's like a free salad bar...free for them, not for us.

its healthy for fish to eat plants, even my goldfish eats plants because its like a human, if you eat too much meat, you wont feel so good but with plants its like vegetables, you balance it out and you wont get sick

There may be an algae on the plants they like. They just may be hungry. What else do they have to do?

because they do eat plants its what the plants are there for as a secondary food source, if you don't want them to eat any plants replace them with plastic ones, goldfish eat anything even there own poo.
