Where does the rubber from your truck tires go?

Not the old tires but the rubber that gets wore off onto the roads?
Ever wonder? What do you think? Into our ground water?
Just curiouse.....

I think some gets ground into the road, the rest turns into rubber dust and becomes airborne

or maybe it just gets stuck to everyone elses tyres and spends the rest of its life travelling up and down the motorways

...i dont think the rubber comes off..it just wears down from driving on it...
