Some one tells you something that you don't know, then you see it everywhere the next day. Last night, I was waiting for my friends to get out of the theater. I was smoking in front of a toy store in Tucson called "Mrs. Tiggy Winkles." I had never heard of her before. Today, on Yahoo answers, some one asked "what kind of animal is Mrs Tiggy Winkles?" This, from my staindpoint is a very obscure reference. What do you call this kind of coincidence?

Seems to happen to me all the time. Things that are very much "related" come in little "clumps." Maybe it's just coincidence yet, I often find it VERY insightful. I recently asked a question that had to do with someone else on this sight who seems to get more bashing than deserved, & she just "happened" to see my question. This led to all sorts of stuff.
It can seem pure nonsense at the moment, (sometimes is), but often in retrospect, puts things in a credible pattern. In your case--I really don't know! But it IS fascinating, isn't it?

It is a coincidence, but the reason you now see Mrs Tiggy everywhere is that it has been brought to your consciouness. Before you could have seen the name many times but had no reason to think about it. It is like buying a white car, and now you notice a lot of white cars. Our mind is full of many things, but not all are at the forefront of the brain; after it is stimulated, the thought, etc. becomes an awareness of what is around you.

What causes it? I'm not the guy to ask. Nobody knows.
What is it called? Phychic researchers have studied similar phenomena for decades. It's called Synchronisity.

This happens to me too, but I don't think it is anything strange. We have probably come across these things dozens of times, but when they are brought to our attention we start noticing them. I never noticed jeeps until I broke up with someone who had one then I saw them everywhere, etc.

Circumstance. Statistically uninteresting.
