When the egg and the spermatozoid unit, a zygote if formed. That zygote begin to develop, neither as male or female. Or should I say it develops as DEFAULT which is, female. At 6 weeks of gestation, the zygote becomes an embryo and THEN, and only then, it differenciate to male or female.
As you may know, female have XX chromosome and male have XY chromosome. On that tiny Y chromosome there's a gene, called SRY, that tells the embryo's body to produce testicules. If the embryo's female, then the second X commands the formation of ovaries. Then hormones are produced, and penis or uterus appear.
Your nipples are simply made before that 6th week, when the zygote is a "default female" and once they're there, they stay there, even after the testosterone hormone start being produced.

"Dudes" have nipples as a vestigial (or leftover) organ, like the appendix.
In the womb, all vertebrate embryos are inherently female. Only when a certain chromosome (Y, I believe) is added do embryos become male.
Also, the nipple is still "functional" in a way, it's just that male hormones suppress that gene. There have been cases where males could feed infants with their breasts because they suppressed those hormones, but its not very common.

well, thousands of years ago men didnt have nipples. But the great Musta Trasknir cursed all me by taking away there metal plated laser blasters and pencil, in replace of useless organs called nipples. thats the real truth.

Actually, I have no idea why a few folks have darkish nipples and a few do not, however I do realize it does not have some thing to do along with your ethnicity I'm black, and I have darkish nipples, however my quality buddy is mild skinned, typically Tyra Banks complexion, and her nipples are crimson. *Don't fear approximately how I understand that, I do just. lol* So considering it, it has not anything to do with ethnicity, however perhaps dermis complexion...? That's my quality wager.

im not sure, but i dont believe it is because we were female to start out with, it takes 2 chromosomes to make a human being, and i dont know how we could start out as females growing nipples then stop growing because if that were true, dont you think we would have some sort of " felmale reproductive organ" too? didn't think so, hope that helps
