I just got back home and saw that i had left a pan with water on the stove. I just got back after about 5 hours and the pan, which was stainless steal cuisinart is now a kinda brown gold color. The color doesnt bug me so much, but can i still cook with this pot?

If it has a NON-STICK surface, its fried and won't work right anymore. That's been my experience. If it doesn't, then some cleaning with baking soda should bring back its orginal color.

Use a cup of baking soda and boil in a couple of cups of water. Let sit till cool, and clean pan. It is then OK to use, although it may be a bit black from the burned area.
