My test was positive about 13 dpo, which was three days before my expected period. Prior to that, I took two tests (10 dpo and 12 dpo) and they were both negative. I obtained my first positive test result with an EPT test. Since the line was quite faint, I re-tested the next morning with a First Response Early Result test, which was also positive.

If you indeed got pregnant, you have to wait at least a week after your ovulation (or 1 week before your next period). The fertilized egg has to travel down the fallopian tube to get to the uterus and implant itself there. Once it implants, the fertilized egg starts to produce hCG, which is the hormon that pregnancy tests try to detect. It takes about 7 days for the egg to implant, so before this, you may get a negative result.
But of course, pregnancy tests packages tell you that the closer you are to your next period, the more accurate the result is. But nothing to worry about if the result is positive though. People can get a false negative, like I"ve described above, but false positives don't usually happen.
Also, any brand will do just fine so go for the cheaper ones with multiple ones in a pack. When I was pregnant with my son, I bought 4 different brands from teh cheap ones to the expensive ones and they all turned positive.
Good luck.

It doesn't matter. You can get a negative before a positive or a positive before a negative. Try to take the test the same time every day. Do not take the test with your first urination in the morning. It can create a false positive.

I tested the day before my missed period and it read positive. I was so socked at the results that I took a total of 5 tests and they all said positive. I think some were wal-mart brand and some were ept and first response but they all said positive.

I examined 14 DPO lower back in could and have been given a dismal valuable with a FR early effect attempt. the comparable day I additionally examined with a dollar shop sort and have been given an extremely faint valuable. you're in a position to attempt and get a great now in case you attempt...particularly with a attempt as sensitve as 20 MIU. yet don't get too unhappy if it finally ends up arising damaging eleven DPO continues to be early. acceptable of success! :)
