I'm a 40 something woman working in the same type job for over 20 years (blue collar job). This 1 guy is such a jerk to me, making crank calls to my desk, being openly hostile and even nudging another coworker, pointing to me, and saying (within my hearing range), "isn't that a sad sack of ****?" Complaints don't help.

It's time for you to go over your immediate bosses head to upper management. Before you do, I would document and entire weeks worth of instances along with date, place and time the harassment takes place. I really feel for you and I hope your situation improves soon - God bless!

You may not like my answer, but the plain truth is that there is no law that says your boss or co-workers have to be nice. Jerks abound in the workplace.

"isn't that a sad sack of ****?" Childish, but it's not sexual harassment by any means.

After 20 years, don't you have some friends at work who could side with you against this guy?

You could call lawyers and pay for consultations until you are blue in the face, but you won't get anywhere with this one.

Inform the supervisor once more about your complaint it definitely is harassment and workplace hostility you are describing. Every employer in the US must display an EEOC poster. There is information on this poter on how to file a complaint against the employer who fails to correct such situations. Good luck

talk to ur human resources department if ur boss doesnt believe u. its very serious when a person is made to feel uncomfortable in their work environment. i would document the time and date of every comment along with what is said. maybe even tape record them if u can. dont let ur boss make u feel that way. if human resources wont help u then hire a lawyer. pls help urself

If your boss sides with this guy, the only recourse is to get another job.

Sorry.
But Bill Clinton made it okay to harrass women.

Contact your state officials. Despite Clinton, it is illegal.

If your boss won't listen to you, he WILL listen to your attorney.
