installing a laminated floor in Kitchen, Can it be sealed and glue together.

u can buy one that glues together but as far as sealing them, forget it......they get wet they tend to swell....i will not install them in new construction of my house's......if owner really wants it i make them sign a waiver and i credit them that amount of flooring and let them get it installed......

You can buy laminate floor that glues together, or there is a product out that I don't know that name of, but it's a sheet of dimpled plastic that goes beneath laminate flooring. The dimples allow for air circulation under the floor that will dry any dampness. Ask for it at your building supply store. I hope this helps.

The modern manufacturing companies have to think well and make a soft sub-floor not so soft that you can coat the finished floor with plastic. Many layers will be nice if it is a petroleum base plastic. The schools use a polythene plastic in a water base that wears out faster but it can be removed easier for new coatings every summer.
