As much as a human kills a tree to fill a need (shallow or not), I as tree would exercise the same right. If I felt it was the human or me, oh yeah, the human would get a good bushwhacking! But from the larger sense that I suspect the trees have, There are more trees in the U.S. today than in 1900, so really human management has done the tree community well.

Now about these stupid little Japanese Bark Beetles!

I suppose that if I was cut down or somehow landed on someone and I was a big heavy tree and the person wasnt rescued in time then yes I would have no choice.

no,i wouldnt kill anyone if i was a tree.i dont like to do that.it is not in my religion,and not in my life.I believe to an it harm none,do as ye will.so long as no one is hurt you can do whatever.
