My faves are Metallica (their older stuff is better, IMO, with the Metallica album being best), Pantera, The Offspring, Green Day, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Ozzy Osbourne or Black Sabbath, Kiss, and AC/DC. And I know I'm forgetting some, but they're not coming to me right now.

Some of the best separate songs are "*** on Feel the Noize" by Quiet Riot, "Slow Ride" by Foghat, "Frankenstein" by The Edgar Winter Group, "Flirtin' with Disaster" by Molly Hatchet, and, if you're feeling nostalgic (or just haven't heard the song in more than a year :P ) "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynrd is always fun ;--)

I'd stay away from some of the newer stuff that calls itself rock. I really classify it as emo and it's not very good (All American Rejects, Fall-out Boy, etc.)

Well there's alot.

There's some Eighteen Visons songs:
Victim.
Black and Bruised.

Uhhh.

Avenged Sevenfold songs like:
Unholy Confessions.
Beast and The Harlot.
Burn It Down.

The Number 12 Looks Like You:
My Sharona.
The Devils Dick Disaster.

Don't forget Bullet For My Valentine.

and Maybe Escape The Fate.

Why don't you just go to alot of underground shows.

That's where I find alot of my local hard rock bands.

Not only will you find great bands, but you'll know great bands that the stupid magazine don't write about.

Hope that helps.
