What if all of these conspiracies flying around out there nothing more that a bunch of smoke and mirriors to make some people think that there is something going on when there is nothing more to it than sheer human imagination. Would not one have to dig deeper to find the realy conspiracies of this world?

Whilst fundamentally flawed, your argument does touch on an important issue of propaganda, - the dis/misinformation aspect of cover-ups.
eg Roswell. I personally don't believe aliens are here on Earth, but the 'alien autopsy' story meant the conspiracy theorists of the time were chasing their own tails, looking for signs of alien/Pentagon conspiracies, and hence, were not actually investigating what the Pentagon was doing on a more terrestial level, and the US ended up in Korea!
Some conspiracy theories simply are smoke and mirrors, however, some really are conspiracies, by governments and their civil servants.
eg In the UK, Hansard shows that the British government was lying to its citizens, and to the House of Commons, stating an anti-nuclear profileration appraoach, whilst selling Israel the heavy water it needed for its nuclear programme. By the time the documents are declassified, everyone involved is dead and ergo, beyond prosecution.

Heres a good one for you. There are some records in the National Archives about this you can look it up if you want. In the 1920s Prescott Bush the Presidents Great Grandfather and Herbert Walker Bush his Grandfather were involved with some shady buisness dealings with Hitler and the Nazis Party. They had made some investments in some dummy companies that were fronts for Nazi arms companies. They never got thier money out of them and it has been proven that one of the reasons for the Stock Market crash was due to so much American capital being invested in Nazis companies
