Any grant writers out there?

Do you enjoy your work and what would a typical day be like for a grant writer. It seems as though it would be rewarding (especially in assisting no-profit agencies). I'm curious about the realities of the job. Thanks!

In college I wrote for the Ford Foundationa nd earned a good chunk of money. I researched and presented commmunication development cross culturally from the speech pathologist's perspective. I spent time in the library (before internet) and on microphiche (archives). I enjoyed it very much and was grateful to have earned that opportunity. I don't do it for a living, but I did do it once and very successfully.
