You don't need a 4 year college degree to become a medical assistance, just a 2 year community college certificate, and in some cases even less than that. Medical assistants are the ones that take your blood pressure and weight when you go to the doctors.

Physician assistants the ones that actually examine you. For example, you go to a doctor's office named Smith, but you get examined by someone named Johnson. That's because Smith would be the residing doctor, but Johnson would be the assistant practicing under Smith. PA's don't need to go to medical school, just a 2 year Master's Degree.
