You can order a DVD from www.technicalvidios.com . They are not nearly as complicated nor do you need as many tools as the inexperienced person might think. Automaitcs are very simple and the vidio will walk you through it. Cleanliness is the most important factor. Any decent mechanic can do it. Just take your time and keep everything clean.

i agree with a few of the other ppl... i personally recommend you NOT trying it ..particular on your daily driver...some special tools are needed.. the 700 r 4 is a great transmission if built properly and has ALL the updates and improvements made when rebuilt.
i have a repair shop and thats the only area we do not do is rebuild transmission.. because it takes a special person to due that .. and unfortunately there is not many GOOD ones out there..

The repair shop guy is correct. I have found them to be excellent transmissions. However it is critical to properly adjust them at wot (wide open throttle) or you will burn them right up. It does require many special tools. I have replaced one with a junk yard unit out of a lte model wreck, and it was alot cheaper than the rebuild.Hope this helps.

Don't even try. Besides being junk, the 700r4 as with all other auto's are difficult to rebuild and need to be in a clean environment while doing it. But if you are determined to do it, you'll need a repair manual and some special tools.

Wow, transmissions are about the most complicated thing on your car. I would leave that to a specialist, plus you will get warranty.
