Due to your choice of verbiage, I'm going to assume you're referring to Canadian history.

If this is true, Confederation occurred on July 1, 1867 (the first Canada Day). This was the day the British North America Act came into effect, joining New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Québec into the new Dominion of Canada.

Within a few years, more provinces accepted the BNA, and were added to the Dominion. Manitoba joined confederation in 1870, BC in 1871, PEI in 1873, Alberta and Saskatchewan in 1905, and Newfoundland in 1949.

The Articles of Confederation were adopted by the Second Continental Congress on November 15, 1777, and ratified March 1, 1781. They were ratified by the thirteen colonies on the Atlantic Seaboard which became the United States following the signing fo the Declaration of Independence. (The name "United States of America" became official in the Articles of Confederation.) The Articles ceased to be effective after June 21, 1788, when New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the Constitution.
