I love her books and style of writing but have read them all. Now I'm out of something to read. Any suggestions?

I am a huge fan of Diana Gabaldon and have also been on a search for something similar. It wasn't easy, and most of it falls too short, in my opinion, but when I was working in a bookstore, I cam across an author named Sara Donati. The first book is called "Into the Wilderness". It takes place in upstate New York, shortly after the Revolutionary War. Like Gabaldon, new characters are introduced and loved in each book. It has romance, historical value, strong heroines, action, and adventure. No time traveling, though. Gabaldon's characters are even briefly mentioned in the first book. The other titles are "Dawn on a Distant Shore", "Lake in the Clouds", "Fire Along the Sky", and just this month, the latest, "Queen of Swords" was released.

They aren't quite as great as Gabaldon, but I still think they are fantastic. I recommended them to other Gabaldon fans and everyone loved them.

I found this list from the Seattle Public Library:
http://www.spl.org/default.asp?pageID=collection_readinglists_category_detail&cid=1063895452515

It says that if you like Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series than you may like these ... then it gives 14 books/authors with short reviews.

The Wake County Public Library offers up another 16 ... if you like love stories set in historical periods, many featuring time travel.
http://www.wakegov.com/libraries/readersservices/lists/favorites/dianagabaldon.htm
again book/author & short review.

Finally, the Kitchener Public Library suggests these authors
Dorothy Dunnett
Barbara Erskine
Roberta Gellis
Margaret George
Pamela Kaufman
Sharon Kay Penman
Edith Pargeter
Judith Merkle Riley
Anya Seton
Sara Donati
It gives clickable links to the authors but suggests no books.

Hope you find this useful & that you'll like some of the suggested books.
