I am sure if you post this question on the Library of Congress' website at: loc.gov you can get the answer. I do know that when I sold the complete Tarzan series by Edgar Rice Burroughs in hardcover and all the books were first edition, first printing except the second book, which was first edition, second printing I got $13,000 for it in 1971. Two hours later the guy who bought the series sold it for $34,000 and one day later the third guy sold it for $71,000 and this was back in 1971. I cannot imagine what this set would be worth today. A half a million maybe?

Specifically, a Gutenberg Bible would sell for millions if not hundreds of millions. A damaged copy was taken apart and sections of it sold to collectors in the 1920s. Even a few pages of it now sell for between $20,000 - $100,000.

There are some "coffee table" style books that have original photos in them hand printed by the photographer that have prices higher than that. These are not antique one of a kind ones. They are commercial limited editions.

Many, many first editions. Antiquarian pieces too. A first folio of Shakespeares collected works will come close to seven figures.
