What is the role of cervical mucus in getting pregnant. Does dryness mean I have no cervical mucus?

The cervical mucous is more favorable at certain times of the month to allow the sperm through more easily. It is thicker at other times to help protect against infection.

It depends what you mean by dryness.

clear, thin cervical mucus helps the sperm travel up the cervix and into the uterus. If you don't have much cervical mucus, try a product like Pre-seed. It's just about the only lubricant that has a low enough ph level to not harm the sperm.

You can also try drinking plenty of fluids, such as juice or v8 splash. Herbs like Evening Primrose oil or FertileCM are also great for helping to increase cervical mucus.

Cervical mucus is a natural lubricant, it should start to appear about the time of ovulation, but not everyone has enough that they notice it , this doesn't mean you don't have any.

I thought cervical mucus was only present in pregnant women and is only visible when a woman is in labour and has her show, it seals off the barrier from the baby to the womb allowing the baby to come out
this is the only time ive heard of cervical mucus

you should have more mucus around the time you ovulate-usually decribed as egg white cervical mucus becuz of color and consistency. it helps the sperm move up thru. if your concerned about not having enough there are lubricants you can buy

just because you feel dry does not mean you don't have cervical mucus. There are plenty of lubes that aren't spermacides (just don't use spit).
