If you are in Western PA, I can help you with the internship question. I interned in a state hospital, which was great.
As far as jobs go, I graduated last December with a M.A. in clinical psychology. I was able to get a job in an residential treatment facility. Their qualifications was someone with a masters degree in the behavioral sciences, like psychology or social work. Some of my classmates have found jobs in drug & alcohol treatment facilities and jails. Your state should have a civil service website; log on and look up jobs with your qualifications to take the civil service exams. State jobs are *sweet*, but they're hard to get right out of school, as hiring is based on a merit system which takes experience into account. Also, since your in counselling psychology, are you getting licensed as a counsellor? DO IT. Having a license raises your likelihood of finding a job and your earning potential.
Good luck.

You can most likely get a job as a counsellor, since that's what you have specialized in. In Canada, specializing in counselling psychology really does limit the areas you can get into in the field. If you were to get into another branch of psychology, say clinical, for example, your options are much more open. If, however, counselling is all you plan to do, then you're making a good choice.
As for where you can get jobs, pretty much anywhere. You can go into private practice, work at a non-profit organization that provides counselling services, be a high-school guidance counsellor. The list does go on. You are only 'limited' in the sense that you can't go outside of the counselling aspect.

First and foremost, strike "guidance counsellor" from your list!
Next strike "have gotten" from your question and replace with "attained"
Now, it is time to address your query. You seem to be a mule, following a carrot dangling before you! Having missed the view of the road followed and whence ,upon arrival at your destination, having no idea where you are!
It is time, to find solace and apply a touch of forethought ,to that which you would like to endeavour upon in your lifes quest.
I suggest, writing a book, entitled. "An Education and Life Well Wasted"
I do hope this helps...I am Grade 9 graduate and I also wonder what to be, now that I'm 58 years old....
