Why are you proud of your nation?

Question

Every time i use Yahoo Answers i read messages from
people saying good or bad words about their or other nations.
Can you mention 5-10 reasons for making YOU proud of
YOUR nation (or Ethnic group for example Arabs, Afroamericans etc.). What did you make for mankind?
Of course i welcome answers from all nations.

I'm proud of the United States for a number of reasons.

- We have a relatively fair system of justice. There are very few places that do as well as we do in that realm.
- We have quite a bit of freedom guaranteed by our Constitution, and in fact defended by our justice systems.
- We have a good history of promoting invention for reasonable profit. That has resulted in a LOT of important innovations.
- We used our financial, military, and diplomatic resources to stop several major threats, including Hitler and Stalin.
- We just this week stood up against the out-of-control domestic right-wing movement despite a propaganda network on a scale of those used by Hitler and Stalin.

We're far from perfect, and we may still fall to our religious extremists, but there is no doubt that the United States has been an overall force for good, and a vital one.

I could find many good things to say about many other countries as well. I don't think this needs to be a contest between countries: it'd be a dull and lesser world if they were all alike.

We are great inovators.
We love or fellow humans all over the planet.
When we get together, we can't be defeated.
We love our family friends and neighbors.
We love our god who gave his only son to save our everlasting souls.
It full of loving caring people who help all over the world.
Its full of people who will suffer and die to do the right thing.


I proudly live in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, the home of the free and the brave. May GOD bless all the nations and thier peoples of this beautiful planet . AMEN
