I have been off the pill since Oct. 21, and got my period on Oct 25. I have had unprotected sex about 5 times during this time as well. For the past week, I have had cramps, sore lower back, and tender breasts. Could all these be sign of stopping the pill? I don't think I could be pregnant already??

It would a gift from God if I was...cause this is the reason I stop the pill, my little girl is already 5 and we are wanting another one soon. Thanks, and hope someone can help. I hope it won't take long before I get pg.

You could be pregnant... but you will have to wait until around the 20th at the EARLIEST to test.

Best of luck!

You wouldn't be seeing symptoms until at least 5-7 days past ovulation and I don't think that would be so soon. Depending how long you were on the pill it can take a few months before you will ovulate properly and even be able to get pregnant.

Starting or stopping BC can cause a lot of symptoms, the ones you mentioned plus heavy bleeding and spotting.

I would suggest you wait until the 20th or later before taking a home pregnancy test.

Until then, definately have sex as much as possible and picking up an ovulation monitor would probably be best in your situation.

If you aren't pregnant yet, I would suggest waiting a month or two before trying.
The pill has heavy duty hormones, so even if you stopped taking the pill it takes a while for the hormones to leave your body.
If you become pregnant while these hormones are in your blood stream, it may be bad for the baby.
This is obviously not true in all cases, the baby could be perfectly fine. But there is always a chance after stopping the pill and immediately getting pregnant that those hormones could be harmful to your baby.
Best of luck, I hope everything works out!

I didn't have any symptoms when I went off the pill, but everyone's different. I've been told that it can take 3 months or more for your periods to become regular after you go off the pill.

Well, considering my sister got pregnant twice within a week of stopping her birth control to concieve it's possible. That would be the major side effect to stopping birth control, pregnancy.

To answer your question, yes there are almost always side effects to taking, and/or stopping any medication. Keep that in mind, and best wishes for you.
