i have been trying ti find one here in san jose, and i went to one i used to go to and it was closed, i have family members in antioch and decided to stop by to the one over there, and theres was closed as well... grrrr... what to do??? does anyone know why there closing them down????

They are not going out of business competely but they are shutting down the majority of their stores in California, at least. In my city they closed 4 stores and now there is only one left. There was an article in the newpaper a few weeks ago about it. They were over ambitious and opened too many stores. The initial hype did not pan out over the long run. Plus, IMHO, once you get over the initial sugur high the stuff is pretty nasty.

Due to an over ambitious expansion strategy and some "suspect" bookkeeping, Krispy Kreme has scaled back some of its stores lately. What at one time was a high flying company that everybody knew and thought was the hottest item on the NYSE, is now back to earth doing what it does best, make hot donuts.

There have been no news reports that I know of that have said Krispy Kreme is closing. They have a website www.krispykreme.com I typed in San Jose CA and the closest one was:

They aren't going out of business or at least haven't announced it, but an article inthe business section of our newpaper today said their sales are down 18% in each of the last two years. I know that they've also closed stores in the Pittsburgh and Toledo areas.

WHAT?????THEIR GOING OUT OF BUSINESS? If there is any way to save them from going out of Business, BUY TONS OF THEIR DONUTS! Man, I would know why, everyone in my neighborhood buys Dunkin Donuts.

The same thing happens with Arby's. Request to open up a franchise. It worked for me.
