Hi! I'm 15 and thinking about getting my ears pierced. When I was 6 or 7 I had them peirced for about a year but I stopped wearing them beacause I have really really curly hair that tangles easy and was dragging the earrings down. So i stopped, but now I'm thinking about it beacuse I would like to wear earrings at times. Though I'm worried.
After ears are pierced do you always have to keep earrings in them so they won't close up?
Should i get them done and where at?

I would, mine done the same thing. I got them re-pierced about a year ago, and they haven't closed back up. I don't wear earrings all the time either. I would go to Claire's or a tattoo parlor.

I think pierced ears are great especially when you look at the option ( those awful old clip on earrings ). After you get them pierced you have to keep earrings in for quite awhile or yes they will close up. The length of time varies from one person to the next, but you should count on 4-6 months. Its important to continue cleaning them on a regular basis after getting them done also, it will help them heal faster. You can go to almost any mall and find stores such as Claire's, they do piercing right there in the store. Its a quick and easy thing and not much more than a good pinch. They also sell an antiseptic there made especially for your ears, you might try buying some, it works real well. The choice is up to you, but if you decide to take the plunge, good luck and I'm sure you'll look real pretty in your new earrings,.

I have really curly hair as well, but I don't have a problem with wearing earrings (I got mine pierced at 13). If it bothers you, maybe you should stear clear of the dangling kind..seems like they would get tangled up in hair easier. You have to keep the studs (first earrings) in for a couple months until the skin heals, but then you don't have to wear earrings all the time if you don't want to. Just make sure you put some in every once in a while to make sure the holes stay open. Before too long, you'll be able to go for months and they won't close up. You could get them pierced anywhere they have professionals to do it. Many places will do it for free, such as Claire's (that's where I got mine done at). They will probably give you a solution to rinse your earlobes with every day for a few weeks so they won't get infected. Good luck!

Every female needs to have their ears pierced. And no after your ears heal you dont have to wear earrings all the time. But a pair of stud earrings really don't get in the way. Go to a shop and have them done that way they will be even. Just take care of them after and Im sure you won't be sorry. just think that opens up a whole new Christmas line of gifts. And just think how excited you'll be when you get your first diamond studs. Happy piercing

You'd probably have to wear the earrings they put in your ears for about 6-8 weeks. After that you can change them. For the first year, you should probably wear earrings quite often, don't go more than a week without them. After a year the hole is pretty permanent. It shouldn't close up, even if you're not wearing earrings for a long period of time.

Yeah, you should get your ears pierced. Just don't wear hoop earrings. You could get them done at the mall for example Claire's.

Until they are well healed you will need to keep them in. After that you can take them out for periods of time but if they are out for a long time, they may heal up again.
