Before I had my first child I would have said yes. But 19 years and 4 children later the answer is definitely NO.

Three of my children have some degree of learning disability. One child has clinical depression on top of that and my youngest is extremely smart. (border line genius) For many years I asked myself why God would give me children at both ends of the spectrum. Now after 19 years I have learned that God has a plan for each of us and he knows me better than I know myself. Each child has been a blessing to me in one way or another and although I would not have 'built' them this way I am so grateful that God loves me and trusts me enough to raise them.

Hello,

If given the option to 'build a baby' not 'build a bear', no I would not.

I trust that my Jesus is doing a good job at creating people in His image.

"Designer" babies as they are called are an abomination to the Lord and me. See what happens when technology becomes God? We humans believe we no longer need the God of the Universe to love, respect and follow His rules that He set before us, to protect us.

True, God gave us humans the minds to create awesome things, but He also gave us the ability to know Good vs. Evil; Moral vs. Immoral, Right vs. Wrong. And, well quite frankly, creating 'designer babies' and cloning is a bit too Frankensteinish for me.

Hope this helps you......................... :-(

I would've been happy either way, but I kinda really wanted a girl so I timed it accordingly and drank lots of OJ and with a little luck that's what we had!

Other than that nature has entirely taken it's course and everything else has been perfect... healthy, happy, dveloping right "on time", good sleeper. I'd have a dozen more if I knew they'd all be like this!!

Isn't being pregnant building your own baby?

No.
"Custom-build" would take away the child's uniqueness.

If I ever did -
'health' would be the only item on the order form I would tick.

nah. that would take all the fun and mystery and excitement and anticipation out of the pure joy of creating a baby and giving birth to him or her and then treasuring each little unique quality of my child. that's the true essence of life. what's the point otherwise?
