I am Master Amara Kiran, a teacher of The Order and the head of The Eranai which is a group founded towards the service of the greater good within The Order. Yet I am frustrated. So many of my students want to join the Eranai but when told that it is a lifetime committment and that one must sacrifice greatly of themselves. I do not like to turn them away or disappoint them but alas, the Eranai are for only those who are truly dedicated and have been found worthy.

In this day and age is it possible, or perhaps I should say likely that there are still those who are willing to make such a committment?

Dhara this is not the proper forum for such a statement. Take care in your behavior. It is inappropriate. In time I will consider your request but you have much training before you in the meantime. This discussion we shall not have again.

First, I don't think that it's necessary to suffer in order to render aid. Some of us do suffer, and using that experience we are better able to help others, however, I don't think we're all called to suffer.

As far as a lifetime commitment to service, that's a part of my own religion as well. All are called to service, even the lowliest of us. Service brings us closer to Deity, and enriches the lives of all.

I'm not sure what your Order teaches, but maybe people find the idea of great sacrifice unappealing. Do you emphasize great sacrifice at the expense of reward? Service does have rewards.

Do you make a call to poverty? Poverty may result in a diminished capacity for service.

I can't really answer as I don't know anything about your sect. Sorry.

Sadly, not too many. I will though. I've made up my mind and my husband is with me on this. We believe in these teachings and will do whatever we must to be worthy to join The Eranai.
