I have been on the same birth control for 5 years now with no problems whatsoever. I have always been regular. However, in the middle of my cycle for the last 2 cyclesI have had spotting. I haven't had sex in nearly 2 months and have still had a regular period when the time came. Thus, I am wondering what could cause the spotting?

I did the same thing. I asked my gyn. He said if I don't take it (the pill) at the same time everyday, it can cause it. I did take it a few hours late on a couple of occasions.

If it continues, he said he could do an ultrasound up inside the uterus to look to see what would be causing it. They fill it up first, then do the ultrasound. I missed a few days for some reason and had to wait until I started to take the next set and since that happened, I have had no more spotting.

You should call your gyn just for a check up anyway. You should have a yearly pap smear. Best wishes to you.

This can happen to anyone while on birth control. Even if you never had problems with spotting before it is normal but if it tends to be a problem for you then talk to your doc about it and they may want to try a different birth control.

Your birth control may not be strong enough for you anymore. Or it could be a hormonal thing. See your doc.

Perhaps you are spotting midway at time of ovulation. Check in with your gyn because maybe you need to have your BCP's changed.

maybe your body has started to change some and the current pill you are on is starting to lose it's effect. It happened to me after I gave birth and went back to my pill. Talk to your doctor you may need to change the pill you are on.
