Crack comes in a crystal like form (rock) and you smoke it, its in a purer form than normal cocaine. Usually with coke, you snort it.

Crack cocaine, a form of cocaine base, is derived from powder cocaine. Unlike the processing of freebase cocaine, converting powder cocaine into crack cocaine does not involve any flammable solvents. The powder cocaine is simply dissolved in a solution of sodium bicarbonate and water. The solution is boiled and a solid substance separates from the boiling mixture. This solid substance, crack, is removed and allowed to dry. The crack cocaine is then broken or cut into "rocks," each typically weighing from one-tenth to one-half of a gram. One gram of pure powder cocaine will convert to approximately 0.89 grams of crack cocaine. The DEA estimates that crack rocks are between 75% and 90% pure cocaine.

Hope this helped. xxx

Crack is a basic substance as in will react with an acid, this allows the user to heat it up to inhale a vapour and take it intraveniously as it will also dissolve in water. Coke is a neautral so would require a huge amount of energy to cause it to vapourise. i believe the chemical responses of the body are also slightly different (probably down to the effects on the bodies acid - base balance) this makes crack highly addictive.

The same applies to base speed and standard speed.

Cocaine and crack are both stimulants with powerful, but short-lived effects. The big difference is that crack is much stronger and more addictive than cocaine.
Cocaine is a powerfully addictive stimulant drug. The powdered, hydrochloride salt form of cocaine can be snorted or dissolved in water and injected. Crack is cocaine that has not been neutralized by an acid to make the hydrochloride salt. This form of cocaine comes in a rock crystal that can be heated and its vapors smoked. The term "crack" refers to the crackling sound heard when it is heated

crack is produced from coke by heating (free basing?) I think.

The result is a crystallised form of cocaine (rock) which when burned gives a more intense but shorter lasting hit. Crack is also said to be more addictive than coke which makes it a more attractive product to drug dealers.

Crack is basically cocaine has been "washed" i.e. cooked in a little water, with added bicarbonate and then dried out. You get two "rocks" from a gram of "charles-charlie-charles"

And by the way Katie, crack is NOT heroin, nowhere close. It's not even an opiate!
