Should your boyfriend buy them or help out and you both buy maternity clothes? How about food if youre not living with him? To feed your unborn child. Should he always be at your doctor visits or atleast some of them? I just want to see what other people have to say about this.

I'd like him to atleast offer to buy me some clothes since he does have money to blow and I dont. I kind of hinted to him and he acted as if I wanted a whole new wardrobe.

my fiance bought some, I bought some, my mother and mother in law both bought me some for christmas. I was living with my fiance so he bought the food. He was also at all of my appointments. You can always wear sweats instead of spending money on maternity clothes.

Well with a boyfriend is a different thing, boyfridns feel a little bit disconected from the whole thing, on the other hand, MY HUSBAND has bought me all I need, I wish he was here but he is in Iraq, but before he left he bought me EVERYTHING, he went to as many doctors appointments as he could go to specially the 19w ultrasound. The man should be part of it, but if he doesn't feel like it or is not interested well there is nothing you can do, he sure should help you out at least with the food and since you don't live together he should give you some money to support you through thepregnancy, but I assume you are under 20 years old and this whole baby thing has been an accident right? at least that is what it sounds like, he is not mature yet and i don't think he will get it, but he should definitely help out. Good luck

So far I've gotten all my maternity clothes from friends. I'm sure I'll buy some, but at this point, why spend a lot of money on clothes that I won't wear for too long.

My question, is if your boyfriend isn't willing to help now, how is he going to be when baby comes. I have my husband come to as many doctor's visits as possible. He's been to everyone so far but there is one in late December he won't be there for (I'm 18 weeks now, in two weeks we get to find out the sex.) Good luck.

oh boy, good question, My mother actually bought my work clothes and nursing p.j.'s everything else I bought. I could suggest letting your bf pay for things for baby, diapers, baby's clothing and crib, etc. also, dont buy maternity clothes right away, start looking around your 6th month or so, depending on how your are expanding, if at all.

It would be 'nice' for future fathers to make all prenatal visits, but if they cant b/c of work, just understand, my son's father made it to a few and he worked mon-sat, 4am-7pm.

I got on WIC to help with food basics in the beginning and then when things got harder I applied for food stamps, just try to rely on yourself. good luck :-)

Go to op shops, garage sales, store sales and just buy some baggy clothing, you don't really need to buy a lot of maternity clothing. A good pair of maternity pants is a must though! Just tell him you can't fit in to your pants and you need to buy some. Perhaps he thinks your mum will buy all that stuff for you. Have a talk to him.

I've bought all mine, though if we're getting technical, it's my husband's money since I'm not currently working. Have you gotten a crib and other gear yet? Even if you buy your own clothes, make sure he knows that since it's in fact his child, he needs to chip in for at least the stuff that will actually be used by the baby.

I got most of my maternity clothes from my sister. because she was pregnant right before me. I think you should ask your boyfriend to buy you a shirt here and there. It's kinda his fault too that you dont fit in any of your other clothes. But the food thing. No i dont think he should buy your food. It would be kinda rediculas if you asked him to. But yes i think he should go to some appointments with you!

I am sorry to tell you but he does not have to do any thing... Maternity clothes... yes he should help, but will he? Food... he is thinking you are going to have to eat any way right? why should he buy the food? Doctors appointments... my boyfriend has only went to the sonogram appointments. He works nights and it is really hard on him... so I go by myself. Honey, it is time to grow up you are about to have a baby that if something happens between you and your boyfriend guess who will be buying all that stuff any way?? That's right YOU!

I bought some of mine maternity clothes, but my mom bought most of them. My husband bought maybe a shirt or something. As far as food, I was married and living with my husband so we bought all of our food together. But, if he is not living with you, is it by your choice, are you living with parents, too young, or is he an ex? I would think whoever is in the household buys the food, including yourself.
