floating checking account????

is it illegal to write a check a few days before payday and turn around and put the money back in the bank to cover other checks?

very illegal & just downright a dangerous trap to set yourself up for.
Don't do it...if you don't have the money DO NOT write the check. It's easier to deal with late payments than jail!

That is called check kiting and is a crime.
