Stick with the basketball and education. Girls will always be a part of your life even when you're old and gray. Do the important things now, chicks really love smart educated jocks; and if you can sing you'll be wooing them even when you're out of school.
Peace ;-)

Who says you have to choose?
Try going to Jr college. You'll need a back up plan no matter what you do.
How many people have gone out into life thinking they are gonna hit it big and had nothing to show for it in the end. You don't want to be that looser do you?
While you're in college, you could play ball. You gotta play somewhere to get noticed and go NBA.
You could also find singing gigs and hone that talent on the side. Go to open mic nights, talent contests, karaoke; what ever. You gotta get heard to get a record contract.
Think of it this way. If you make it big, you'll be able to be a great role model for kids and your family will be proud when you graduated college. Then they don't have to worry about you moving back in to their house and mooching of them if you blow out your knee or pop a vocal cord.
Bonus: You could take accounting classes and would know it if your manager is ripping you off.

Go with the basketball, and get an education. If the music happens for you later, well good! Either way, you do need an education so people won't take advantage of you. Good luck!

Singing is a talent where sports are a physical activity. I say sing because you can express yourself from your heart. Isn't that what its all about, living life to the fullest and if you have a talent like this than share it with the world.

If you've got a drawing board to get back to, Don't let frustration get to you, Enhanced creativity and expressiveness are sure to give you the tools you need to handle most any task ahead of you. You can sing for more years, than you can play basketball... I've been writing songs & there are a lot of songwriters out there who wish they knew somebody who would sing their songs.
