I haven't changed laundry detergent, no new soap, she hasn't eaten anything new, pretty much I can't think of anything that has changed that would make her break out. But, for the past few days (today being the most) she started getting these little reddish pink spots(not raised from the skin really, more of a surface like rash) all over her body (face, back, stomach, diaper area...etc). Has anyone else had this problem? Did you figure out what the issue was?

She isn't itching at it, and she had the chicken pox vaccine a couple of months ago. This is ALL OVER her body, and they aren't raised bumps, it's just like a surface rash.

Friends of my daughter's have just gotten over baby measles... (They're all 12 months old.) We were about to visit when one Mom sent this description...

After the doc's and reading on the 'net, I've learned that they are very common and often it is the reason for a baby's first fever (which is the case for Hudson). She had a low-grade fever for several days, the doc checked her for strep since she had an infected throat, and then everything cleared up - but then this morning her chest and back were covered in little dots. They don't itch or anything and other then being a little more clingy than normal, she's fine!

... could be that! If so the recommendation for kids over 1 is to call a doctor if the fever is over 103. I'd likely call anyway for advice. (Plus it's REALLY contagious among young kids.)

Take care!

Since the chicken pox vaccine is actually a small dose of the chicken pox, it could be she's having a breakout of that. I would definitely take her to the doc to be sure, no matter what it turns out to be.

Possibly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth_Disease

It is only dangerous to pregnant women.

Small spots probably aren't chicken pox. Also chicken pox tend to appear on the belly first and then spread and fifths tends to start on the face first. Also pox are raised.

Hello,

It sounds like your baby could have Roseola? This is a common rash all babies seem to get.

Although, my twins, are not showing any signs of it yet and they just turned a year old. I am just waiting to see if they get this.

Your baby could also have chicken pox.

Here, look at the BabyCenter website for answers as well.

Hope this helps you........................ :-)
